A staple in McAllen. A must try. Quaint lunch spot where you are sure to have a quality meal. I highly recommend the Thai Chicken Curry, I wouldn’t know where else to get one this good in our area.

I went for dinner yesterday (Friday night) looking for a healthier, lighter menu. I was not disappointed! The Crispy Brussels were a great starter: flavored with sriracha aioli, toasted almonds, and honey. I've been here before but had not tried the Pesto Grilled Salmon. It is a salmon filet on fresh spinach and grilled veggies with the most amazing pesto sauce! I loved it! My boyfriend was satisfied with the Grilled Chicken Breast served with a side of mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables.

The best american food made from scratch we have eaten since we left San Antonio. The fish sandwich was delicious, and the chicken fried steak was even better. Nice atmosphere and soft jazz set the mood.

Can not ask for a better place to get a quick meal! The food is made fresh, tastes yummy, and service is always quick and so welcoming, no matter the hour! We’ve started dining here at least once a week. Very convenient too since I work right down the road at D&M! City Class Ceasar salad is my fave!

I dont come here often just because I'm not in the area, but I'm never disappointed when stopping by for lunch.one of the friendliest staff I've experienced in McAllen. The menu has a good variety of choices, and we usually get the same dishes. Try the beef wrap, very good. There was a problem with my plate on this visit, but the waitress quickly fixed the problem. The owner/manager was walking around greeting patrons, some of whom are regulars. The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. Service is great. I would definitely return.

We recently revisited City Cafe, a charming establishment we hadn’t frequented in years, and were warmly welcomed by the owner, Steve, whose gracious hospitality set the tone for a delightful evening. He expertly crafted us a pair of exquisite margaritas, each bursting with vibrant flavor. Opting for the evening’s special, we savored bacon cheeseburgers that were nothing short of phenomenal—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and masterfully prepared. The staff’s friendliness and courteous service further elevated our experience, while the inviting ambience, with its tasteful decor and relaxed atmosphere, created a truly memorable dining experience. We eagerly anticipate our return to City Cafe.

Great ambience, fresh made food and wonderful first class service. Had the opportunity to try their Shrimp Po Boy, and crispy Brussels, with potato salad. Also was told their chicken noodle soup is the best, and hands down, it is! You can’t find another freshly made chicken noodle soup anywhere in the region! Everything is fairly priced and you are getting great value with the high quality of food you’re being served! Come by and check it out!!
